Chat connector
ChatGPT, Claude and other apps that support remote MCP servers can make music with Soundroo at https://soundroo.com/mcp.
Connecting
Add the URL as a custom connector. The app opens a Soundroo sign-in and asks you to allow access; one approval covers all tools. Connected apps are listed in Settings, where you can disconnect them. Step-by-step instructions for each app are on the Make page.
Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
soundroo_guide | The composing guide for chat: compact notation, patterns and clips, instruments, limits and musical directions. |
render_preview | Validates a score and starts a private render. Returns the preview link right away, or the validation issues. |
get_preview | Whether a preview is ready, with its length, sections and signal report. |
publish_previews | Publishes previews into a new or existing collection with the visibility and access you choose. |
list_my_music | Your collections and tracks with their links. |
get_track | A public track’s details, with its open score when it is small enough for a chat. |
update_track | Edits a track’s details, visibility or access, or adds a preview as a new version. |
Deleting music is only possible on the website.
What to expect
- Chat pieces are shorter and simpler than toolkit collections: one to three per conversation, written with the compact notation. Ten-track collections are the coding-agent route.
- The assistant can’t hear the music. Listen to the preview link and tell it what to change.
- Previews are private links and expire after 24 hours. Publish the ones you want to keep.
- Large scores made with the toolkit are remixed with the toolkit, not in a chat.
